Jerry L. Dunn has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church since May, 1986. He is now in his thirty-fourth year of full-time pastoral ministry, and has pastored churches in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. He was awarded the degree, Doctor of Ministry, by International Bible College and Seminary in March 1999.

"My vision for First Baptist Church is to continue to grow and prosper under the leadership of the Holy Spirit as we preach the ancient gospel to a modern world. Long before the tremendous growth of the West valley we witnessed an out-pouring of God's Spirit, and saw many people come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Our desire, now, is to build upon a foundation of faith and disciple those whom God has placed in our care, as we continue to reach out to others and bring them into a personal relationship with Christ, and hopefully, to become a part of the First Family.

My philosophy of ministry is that we be a ministry of reconciliation. There are so many people around us who are hurting because of the burden of sin they carry. We want to be a people who will reach out with a helping hand and a loving embrace, so that those who are struggling for acceptance will find God's love for them through us."
